I got it, funny the interface doesn't seem to inform you of incoming messages X.x Also if you start saving now, check the date of the con you wanna go to. You could easily get through the convention with about $100 for souviners if you eat at home. I went to Sakuracon this year and I spent $90 on souviners, and about $25 on food. I don't know what that translates in UK currency, but if properly budgeted it shouldn't be too expensive, especially if you put a little bit of money aside from each paycheck. Of course, that's not including initial registration fee, and cos-playing expenses.

And trust me, if you can manage to break out of your shell, there's no limit to the fun you can achieve. I didn't get to cosplay this year, but next year I hope to be done with my outfit.
