hmm theres also western hognoses, which are one of the cutest snakes out there they also make very good pets, though they do often musk (which is a defense mechanism where they poop/pee on you, and it smells bad xD) this can be treated with frequent and proper handling though they are very, very small (smaller than the sand boa) and are adorable! the only downside though is that smaller species of snakes can only eat pinky mice, which are baby mice and often times you have to "scent" them to get them to eat buuuttt hognoses do eat better than pythons, as they can be fussy anyways, sorry for the long comments! good luck on your endeavor! if you do decide be sure to let me know! https://i.pinimg.com/originals/c6/b7/15/c6b715dafbdbbcac3c28f83569883bdf.gif

from what i know about them theyr very docile snakes and really dont mind being handled (which some snakes like hognoses are more fussy about) to be specific its the kenyan sand boa that are very good beginner snakes because of their calm nature (though ofcourse different animals have different personalities so there are more flighty ones out there, as is with all animals) the housing for one is pretty small, just a 10 gallon aquarium (though its always good to go up a few gallons) of sand hmm after some googling they arent as small as i recalled them being xD https://i.pinimg.com/originals/05/3d/c2/053dc277a42b965170647b6395cb4a03.jpg

hope im not bothering you but i saw you posted about wanting a snake and i have a huge interest in animals! if your mom is scared of snakes you could always try and see if she would dislike a sand boa! theyr very little and cute and hide in sand all day! https://i.makeagif.com/media/10-24-2017/dHL_La.gif

MugiwaraMaster @mugiwaramaster You are good. So a sand boa is a smaller snake to raise? I may think about about it. Maybe this could change my mom's mind that pet snakes are just misunderstood and not scary. They are more afraid of us than we are of them.
