I think that they did a great job handling the three year story gap. I also love Korra's new look.
I also believe Toph has to make a reappearance. Not just to answer who fathered her children, but probably to help Korra get over her apparent PTSD.

Well the dubs shouldn't be a problem because most of the animes on there they only have the Japanese version, and even if they have the dub, they still have it in Japanese anyway. I enjoy dubs, and I'll watch them pretty much all the time unless they're bad or there isn't one.
But yeah, if you don't want the dubs, then they'll have the same show subbed
