@Kid at least what I do, I use my credit card as if it were my debit card. If I have the cash I’ll spend, but if not I won’t. That mentality helped me out when I first started using credit cards.

@Kid As Gurren mentioned- a trick you can use is maybe only get groceries/gas (if you drive) on the card and pay it off at the end of every month in full. Can help build your credit without putting you at too much risk. Stick to a fixed limit if you want like Gurren said- but it's a good way of getting that good credit score. Trust me mines terrible due to being out of work for 6 months and falling behind on bills a couple of years ago (no credit involved there). So i went from having no credit to bad. I wish I had built some up before then. Start ASAP because like you said- you can't go through life in this day and age without any unless you're mega rich. Especially if you want opportunities like Loans/Leases for new cars or big purchases in the future- Buying a home especially. It's hard enough for our generation as it is.
