Majority of girls don't like dating guys in/going into the armed forces?

cursedsilence
It's all good, I know where your coming from, I just got back from my deployment from Kuwait. It's rough, As for me I'm in the Air Force. You just have to find that right one that will stick with you though it all. Patience can be a virtue.

Hey.. Not all girls are the same you know. I have a great amount of respect for the people who serve having been raised in the military myself. I wouldn't have a single problem dating a man in the service if he was a good man and he loved me completely. It's all about trust. Mutual trust. If there's no trust in the relationship, then you're with the wrong person. Personally? I would rather DIE than cheat. If I ever found a good man who loves me dearly and makes me happy who happened to be in the military.. I would stay true to him and him alone no matter how long he was deployed away from home. I would be terrified for him and worry over him, but I would still be there when he returned. I wouldn't even look at another man if I had a good man who loved me, soldier or not. He could be gone for years and I would still not be tempted, not even in the slightest. I have no problems with celibacy. Any woman who would dishonor a man like that is nothing but a stupid, little *$%# in my book and deserves a black eye. >:/ O_o.... I'm sorry.. but that sort of thing hits a nerve with me. I can't stand people who would do something like that.

Well dang, this thread is a bit depressing. I had always tried to use my military occupation as a plus on the ladies =/.....

@Erik4J, don't worry, it can be a plus for some people :)

They're afraid to get attached to you emotionally because you'll be leaving for the armed forces, they're afraid that after they've become emotionally attached to you that they'll lose you. I'm sorry man. The reverse has happened to me, my ex broke up with me I think because he's leaving for the armed forces too.

Military life is a lifestyle many do not understand. I married young, because he promised to go full time - all lies. :( Now I'm single and too old to bother. Older men don't understand my hobbies and I'm not attracted to guys my age or younger - even if they're legal.

The distance is a big deal for me personally. I'm always miserable in a long distance relationship, even if we talk, text, or Skype 24/7. Then there are girls that might not like the whole uniform thing. Personally, I'm not a fan of the shaved heads. There is also the factor of possible cheating on either persons side, which is sad to think about. On top of that there is a greater possibility of the person who is serving passing away. My step-father is a retired Air Force member, and I used to think it was hell living with him because he was a neat freak, and yelled all the time, to which he said being in the military made him that way. I'm not into super neat freaks, and yelling, so that also scares me off from military men.

I'm personally very attracted to military men. I find them to be very daring, courageous, and sexy. And I'm sure there are other girls out there that feel the same. Distance isn't necessarily a bad thing for me when I know the distance is because he's fighting for his country. In the end, you'll find a girl that will think the wait is worth it.

While it is hard for a relationship in the navy there are those who do have great relationships and marriages. plus some of them found there love after they were in for a while.
