Hmmm... It was a few years ago when the US dollar was worth nothing compared to the yen (I think it was like 70 yen to a dollar), so we had to save up more. I'm not sure how it translates into Philippine currency but the entire trip was around $5000 for one week, including airfare and hotel and meals.

It's totally worth every cent (except maybe Maid Cafes unless you go to a good one since they're expensive to eat at, but it's cool to go anyway for the experience). Some things like the Historical Garden surrounding the Emperor's home are free. Getting around in Tokyo is really easy because of the trains but you have to plan everything out beforehand. There's a zoo in Ueno that's cheap or there are shrines that are free to visit (we got really really lucky and there turned out to be a festival going on when we visited). You can go to the observatory in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and get a view of the entire city and you can see Mt. Fuji on clear days. Even walking around in Akihabara or Harajuku is fun since you can see all the interesting fashion.
