Why would Hell have good comedians perform? If anything they would have only bad ones perform because that would actually cause suffering.

Heaven's standards are too high brow for most. Harder to relate to the humor when people can't put themselves in the role of saints. Comedy is based on suffering and heaven lacks suffering therefore their performance wouldn't be nearly as hilarious as hell's. I mean the Divine Comedy spends the bulk of its narrative in the Underworld.
