Thoughts on having an MaiOtaku singles mixer?

So I just came up with a random and crazy idea that I feel like sharing before I forget it like most of my "neat" plans. Has anyone ever thought about trying a singles mixer through skype? We could get people to sign up and have a few people organize the event together so that we can send people skypes. Could sign up with your interests/orientation so you get matched up with the right gender and then you can chat people up via voice/cam. If the conversation you are having with that person doesn't go well you can just message one of the event organizers for another guy/girls skype and keep moving on. Could probably run that event for ~3 hours. It is probably a pretty extreme idea for many people on here since most people on the forums talk about how shy they are, but this is one of the ways to break the ice. Just meeting and talking. In regards to the whole "skype is personal" ordeal. Signing up is completely optional if anyone decides to back an idea like this so anyone uncomfortable with the idea would simply not sign up. Even if we only got a pool of ~6-10 people involved it would still let those 6-10 people have a shot at making new friends/romance interests. Anywho. That is my crazy little idea. If anyone wants to elaborate on it and give it constructive criticism/make it happen I am all ears. Lets save the negative comments though. No reason to throw a wrench into the idea if it could have potential.

Good idea might need a Mod, for the pervs or perhaps a filter of some sort...or perhaps people might just be respectful :D

Well since it is a mixer if anyone goes overboard with their typed messages they can always be blocked by the person being harassed and that person could copy and paste anything offensive that was sent so that the person would not be able to continue to harass others in the mixer. Obviously other kinks could be worked out for all of it but I think it is a neat idea.

A little hard to plan, and there's some details that would probably need to be worked on, but sounds great. At least the next best thing to a real life meet up that takes more work to go to as well as plan. :3

Indeed. The planning phase is neat because it isn't really on a time limit. Anyone who would like to plan something like this with me is more than welcome to and we'd have all the time in the world to refine it a bit so it goes smoothly. Or if someone else thinks they could do a better job by all means take the reins!
