Pictures and profiles

@Maverick, But why should love be based on your profile picture? I can agree with you on some things, like that if you love someone they need to know what you look like, but that doesn't mean I gave to show my picture to everyone. There are plenty of ways to show only the person you like what you look like. Just because I don't have a picture of myself up doesn't mean I'm just sitting around waiting for the right guy to fall into my lap.

Now you're missing my point . . . In my first post I said it wasn't because I lack the confidence, I'm just not comfortable with every random person on the internet knowing what I look like (^_^;) and in the next post I said that I was trying. I haven't been on this site all that long, so I don't really know anyone all that well but I put in my profile that I'd love to skype with someone once I got to know them. To be honest I don't really feel that strongly about this topic. In my opinion everyone should be able to put whatever they want as their profile picture. If you're comfortable putting a picture of yourself up, go for it, but if you're not, for whatever reason, you shouldn't have to and no one should be pressuring you into putting one up. I mean honestly, is it really that important to you to know what everyone you talk to looks like? You stated that people on this site don't judge, but can you really say that about everyone? And also, aren't you indirectly judging me right now for not having my picture up?

@Justsomeone: i switched because i wanted to meet more people and i realized that because i didn't feel uncomfortable with myself, there was no reason not to show myself. there is a psychological reaction that ppl get when they see other ppl in pics, they feel more inclined to talk to them, and tend to open up faster

Maybe my perspective will help? It is kind of suspicious when people don't post pictures of them selves. For me, it's like not knowing who is hiding behind the picture. You could be thinking you're talking to someone you're age, but turns out its a 40 year old being creepy. I think pictures are good, a lot of them. So people realize you are who you say you are.
