Older Otaku (if they exist)

Age wise I am only 25 but I use to watch a lot from the 90's and have a hard time getting into this new stuff you kids watch so I think I have the spirit of an old fart.

I've only got another month or so of 30 left in me before 31 comes around. But that just means I've saved up that much more money to buy anime, cosplays and collectables ^^ Oh wait, I had to check the year and remember that I'm 31 going on 32. You're only as old as you feel right? XD

I'll be turning 25 this year! I remember people saying, "It's just a phase" or "You'll grow out of it". They were wrong!! Haha!

Well I'm not old, and neither are my cosplayer friends, who range from 20-29. There's a whole group dedicated to them and cosplayers of all ages on facebook, we're called Cosplayer Nation. :D

Cut the bs and put it out front first thing. You love anime and the ppl that don't understand that passion prob wont mesh well. Its not the only thing we do, but seems like some ppl don't understand (though they accept the fantasy football insanity). Each fan is different (as every con will show you) so generalizing only causes a look of shock when you tell non-fans that anime/manga is one of your hobbies/collections/ect. I do agree however that you don't just run into many ppl that tell you they are into anime early in a conversation, and at a con its a given. Im the type who tells you early on anime is part collection/hobby/passion (and ends up having to explain its not a "cartoon"). I have met a few ppl my age and older into anime, but most of the time its a limited activity cuz they all seem to have a family/children (which = no $$$).
