Its a 50/50% chance, you either take it or not and gamble your way to see if it works.
Personally I am done with waiting so I take my chance if I see it.

If all you do is keep waiting, you'll be waiting for the rest of your life.
No one is EVER literally waiting, you are usually and unintentionally looking and searching. Some people get lucky and things are handed to them easily. Like a girl whose not afraid to approach and let them know that she likes them. Or vice versa.

Hmm, just because you get screwed over by the last person doesn't mean you need to let them affect you in a way where you put love on hold. I do understand, however, about the need to just take a little break and chill till jumping aboard into the search again. One does get tired, unfortunately. D: Just don't let it affect you forever. It's good to always be open for new things. c: Start by building friendship and the like with new people (or improve the ones with your current friends?). From there attraction and like will get you to that person (make you want them all for yourself type of thing~ :'D).
Personally, I believe in becoming good friends with someone first before getting into a relationship. If we can like each other enough to be friends and we get along, then there's more of a chance we'll do well together. :3

well I can agree with the disrepectful part, but the cheating thing problem is still unsolved, because only as friend doesn't solve that

Well, if as friends he/she lies/backstabs you, etc--you can kind of know they're not the most reliable/loyal person. .__.

I don't believe in the whole " If i'm friends with them for this long, they're okay to date ".
Sure you've known them for a long time or a certain time but when you're in a relationship, it exposes a new side of them that you've... probably have never seen before. Affection and Jealousy. And just the fact that things can be taken into context a lot more seriously.
While it's true that it can help fortify the relationship, it still doesn't mean they'll be the most loyal or reliable. That being said, I like to keep friends as "FRIENDS". Because if things never work out, you're always going to have a weird vibe with them and when your new GF/BF comes around and sees that you still have strong bonds with your Ex, they won't be too happy.
Some food for thought :)
