Saddest Video Game Endings

Welp. I just watched the ending to the new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, and I will have to say that I cried a little bit in the end. Usually those Mystery Dungeon games do get me to cry, but it later ends on a happy note. Gates to Infinity: NOPE. No happy end. :c What are some sad games or sad endings to games that you've seen before or have played through before? One you've either cried on or wanted to cry but sucked it up.

Shadow of the Colossus. Would love to tell you what happened if you don't mind spoilers. Also Metal Gear Solid 4, amazing game, and very sad ending. Same deal as above if you're unfamiliar with story, just lemmie know if you don't mind spoilers.

This isn't so much an ending, but more of just a certain scene that got me to crack a little bit... Albedo's change from XenoSaga. Mother 3's ending was also a little too sad for me. :c Conker's bad fur day's ending, to me anyways, is depressing.

I don't know that visual novels really qualify as game, but the end of the Fate route of Fate/Stay Night always makes me tear up, and the Kurisu ending of Steins;Gate would be heartbreaking if it wasn't for the existence of the true end. Of course, I'm perfectly aware that there are visual novels where every ending is a heartbreaking tragedy, but I try to avoid those.

Oh I love Fate/Stay Night. ;A; I also teared up at the end of the Fate route. :c And don't worry, visual novels do count. As long as you're able to make a choice (at least), then it's considered (for me) to be a game. XD I have yet to play Steins;Gate, but I have been meaning to. Now I know it'll be great with the sad ending. :3 I'm not sure of this next one, I haven't done it myself yet and I haven't seen any wiki pages or videos showing it either since the game is fairly new but... I heard that if you were to pick Michelle as a bachelorette in "Harvest Moon: A new beginning", then you need to be prepared for a shocking sad scene. o.o

Metal Gear Solid 3. Considering the events of that game and how it ended, yeah it was pretty sad. When you see a hardened soldier break like that, you can't help but feel it.

Oh yes, the entire history of Albedo is pretty intense. Understandable too, considering his situation. Folklore all around was an intense and dramatic story as well.

Xenosaga had a relatively sad ending. Clannad had you in tears. And who can forget Final Fantasy X's ending. Those three are the saddest endings I've seen.
