Married to Yuriko

I wrote tis short story. Kazuma was once a delinquent. Because of his father’s cruel behavior toward his family, Kazuma acted out, got into fights, and was a general pain in the ass. His mother who was ill and on her deathbed, asked Kazuma to help his father’s company. After she passed away Kazuma decided that he would succeed his father’s business on his mother’s behalf. Years later Kazuma’s father decides to marry his son to the daughter of a company rival in order to combine the two companies and increase their power and success. Kazuma reluctantly agrees to the terms but discovers some issues with his new wife Yuriko. When he meets Yuriko for the first time he finds out that she is still in high school, and that she harbors a deep hatred for her father and now him. Things start off rocky at first as she shows no signs of going along with the marriage, but later Kazuma learns that Yuriko only agreed to the marriage because of a promise she made to her late mother. Realizing the similar situation the two were in, both decided they would be married in name only, in the new house they lived in they would live in separate rooms. And after Kazuma gained control of the companies he would divorce Yuriko. The plan was going well until Kazuma learned Yuriko’s secret, Yuriko was a lesbian and currently had a girlfriend, Hitomi.

Sounds great! I was liking the whole idea of it, and was expecting that the revelation of them both having made promises to their respective mothers would have brought them closer together. I am confused as to the point of having Yuriko turn out to be a lesbian. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with that the gist of the story is about. But as a writer myself, I'll just say that if you can make it work then go for it!

I orginally wrote where it was just the two of them. But I thought the story needed something more. Then after reading Milk Morinaga's Girlfriends, I thought making Yuriko gay with a girlfriend would be a nice twist. The story is about respect toward other people not matter what they do, who they are , or who they like. Kazuma does not go after Yuriko because he respects her strong nature, and that it would be disrespectful to take adavantage of her in their situation. Yuriko respects Kazumma for the same and for honoring his late mother's wishies. This segment is only the first of a growing review of the story. I'll post the next one in a min. I'm not writing the full story yet cause I need a good artist to complete it.

Part two Yuriko was an easy going high school student. She got good grades, was well liked by her classmates, and had no enemies. But Yuriko has two dark secrets, one she is secretly married to Kazuma, the son of her father’s rival company. And two, she is actually a lesbian and has a girlfriend, the Kendo team’s Capatin Hitomi. It was agreed that she and Kazuma would be married in name only as both had made a promise to their mothers to do so, they were gonna wait until Kazuma gained control of the companies and then they would get a divorce. But now that Yuriko was married to Kazuma she was worried that her secret relationship with Hitomi would be exposed and bring her father’s vengeful wrath upon all three of them. Fearful of her father, Yuriko decides to break her relationship with Hitomi. Hitomi not knowing what could cause Yuriko’s behavior follows her home one day and sees that she is living with a man who is not her father. Hitomi falls into sorrow, filled with the sadness that Yuriko had lied to her and was with someone else caused her to fall into depression. Yuriko begins to worry about Hitomi and her behavior makes Kazuma question her about what is going on. Kazuma gets Yuriko to tell him the truth, but as Kazuma learns about Yuriko’s relationship with Hitomi, he only smiles and tells her that he would like her to continue her relationship with Hitomi, and that he would help protect their relationship.
