Used to play EQ, then went to DAOC with friends, played that for a few years, then went to WoW for several years. Currently playing SWTOR trying to finish up the last couple of storyline quests for the classes I like before Guild Wars 2 comes out, then will be playing that. Have tried a lot of different ones over the years, but those are the ones I played mainly the most.

I'm playing TERA Online, and it's pretty beastly. You can try a demo on their site that doesn't require any download. Its a p2p game, but worth every penny.

I quit WoW two years ago. It was a health hazard. Although I love the idea of an online community that plays together, it only means there are people within the game that can potentially suck you into it, causing it to be far more addictive than typical social networks such as twitter or facebook. Deciding to play an MMO is like deciding to take on a second social life. Some people can balance their normal life, work, and gaming, while others simply replace their normal social lives with an online one. At least, that's what I realized after gaming for so long, as well as meeting very angry nerds who only know how to express themselves behind their pixellated characters. I'm trying not to sound too judgmental, because I'm throwing all this out there just as a fair warning to those who get too deep into online gaming. Cheers.

You got me thinking of the World of Warcraft Freakout Kid. Although WoW isn't his problem.

I will agree with health hazard. Spending too much time on the same thing that does absolutely NOTHING to help the earth. You can make friends and keep friendships that way, but it doesn't give the sense of actually fulfilling something as amazing as actually going outside and walking through a forest trail or building something out of wood.

I played this korean MMO called CABAL for over 3 years. I quit 2 months ago and lost like 30 lbs so far LOL. So yeah, MMO's are a pretty big health hazard if taken too seriously (serious being like 3hrs+ a day). I did find some of the best friends I've ever had on that game though, so its not like I regret anything about it.

I love Tera, sadly I have ran out of monies... I cannot re-sub until I get my job.
