Just when I thought I have seen worst idea to come out of washington DC I see this article. http://m.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2013/01/09/trillion-dollar-coin-the-new-nuclear-option/ This would cause serious inflation on top of the federal reserves QE programs.

The coins are just a potential contingency for if they don't vote for a debt ceiling raise. It doesn't actually do anything to to the value of money and it's no more ridiculous than a party holding the nation's economy hostage

I agree with Obama's lawyers though. Doesn't make for a totally solid argument but well... nuclear option.
