due to conflicting interest through out history, verifying any summerian text as a "copy of the original" is virtually impossible. Most texts from that time refer to things that defied logic and reason (as well as gods teachings) to most scholars up untill the 1970's. (when scientists were no longer lauged at for believing in aliens or trying to build time machines...) If you are fortunate enough to get ahold of a non tampered version, there is the added trouble of Sumerian being somewhat troublesome to translate, the rosetta stone that formed the basis for most of our understanding of ancient texts are several thousand years too young to help, and the majority of sumerian litterature was lost in the library of Alexandria. If you are referring to the fictional documentation of Gilgamesh's life and deeds, its probably "the Epic of Gilgamesh" you are looking for, if on the other hand you have a scholarly interest, i suggest getting hard to work with the summerian tablets that are located in the british museum, these are... interesting... to say the least... ^^
