blue
the colour of the cloudless sky you see on a warm summer day. the colour of the water that threatens to cradle you, to engulf you, to savour you as it eats your breath the moment you go too deep, too far, into its embrace like a child rushing into their mothers arms. the colour of their eyes when they stare into yours; in moments of passion and playfulness; in moments of hatred and animosity; in the final moments of their life. it is the colour of the bed they lay on as they tell you that there is nothing to fear, and you watch them drift, drift down into the waters' open arms and hug it ever so tightly, never letting go.

and so i close myself off from the world
shedding the skin attained from the spring and summer months
burning snow becomes a blanket
shielding me from the moon and its distinct insisting gaze
hiding from the beautiful monster that compels us to turn our souls into its own special stardust
scattered across the night sky
vulnerable and cold

both are untitled
///
how dull
seconds
minutes
hours
they pass
a gentle breeze in the wind
and yet
still no sign of colour
///
strict silence
you can hear everything
the quiet ringing in your ear becomes a church bell
signalling the sermon of saturninity
the mute priest begins
the gospel sings dead air
you listen intently
repenting for your sins in reticence
until the quiet ringing slows to a halt
and you are left with nothing once again
