Good question. It reminds me with my fascination with felines of all kinds. I must say to this "to each his/her own." If it's something you're into, who should be the one to tell you no?

Only you know the answer to that. It is not what somebody else tells you what you need to be obsessed with but what are you comfortable on doing in your life.

is there a thing in real life that is normal? We are all our own person our likes and dislikes and our views make us who we are. Why care what others say or think about you? You were not put on this earth to please anyone but yourself.

Being obsessed with something isn't necessarily going to make you fit in better with people. It's great for conversation, but having a wide variety of interests goes a long way in bettering your chances of finding a significant other. I'd frankly be bored out of my mind if a potential friend or girlfriend talked about nothing but anime, games, etc.
