WTF OLD GAME selling!

You have to remember, they are running a business. They can't buy old games like that for a lot of money. Everyone is busy with their ps3 and xbox360. They aren't going to bother with a big stock of used ps1 games anymore. It just isn't worth it for them.

i guess its a buyers market internet could be a part of it with easy Downloads and mix that with how many copies that are out there and how many people actualy collect old games then ya prices will drop.

Retro gaming prices come down to rarity and demand. A copy of say Panzer Dragoon Saga on the Sega Saturn is going to command a pretty penny since only around 30,000 copies were released of the game and it's one of the more desired and collectible games out there on the platform. I bought my copy used off ebay about 12 years ago for about $100 and I know it goes consistently more than double that on ebay for a complete copy. If you want the maximum amount of money for your older stuff, amazon, craigslist, or ebay it. You won't get jack for it trading it into most retro stores or pawn shops nowadays since they base their pricing on those same sites and pay accordingly less so they can still make some money on it. A good example of fluctuating prices for older games is Final Fantasy VII. A game that sold a lot of copies for the PS one, but demand skyrocketed once Advent Children released. Once the fervor for that movie died down and Sony released FFVII as a downloaded game on the PSN for $10, prices crashed back down to more reasonable levels and its worth around $20 used nowadays for a complete copy. Anyone still trying to charge $50 to $60 for it is dreaming.

You have the Sesame Street game for NES? Is it the one where Big Bird spins the wheel of letters? I have that. Like everything, games sell based on demand. No one has a demand for sesame street for the NES. Unless I lost mine, then I'd probably be the only person in the world who wanted it. There are also plenty of copies of most games floating around that the price is driven down.

If people are trying to get $40 for a gold cart of Zelda or $60 for a copy of Final Fantasy on the NES, they'd better be in mint condition with original packaging because they aren't worth nearly that for stand alone carts. If anyone actually pays that much, they're getting ripped off big time imo. $30 to $40 sounds about right for Harvest Moon 64 and those special edition packages and Nintendo World carts command so much because of their rarity. Like Stadium events selling with an NES for $13,000 awhile back.

Those clone consoles have been around for years. I should know because I bought a couple of them myself about six years ago. The Retron 3 is a pretty good clone console in it's own right. It really comes down to the specific cart and how much people are willing to pay. If you know the market, and demand for a game, you can save yourself quite a bit of money versus buying it on a whim. A local pawn shop last year had Intelligent Qube for the PS one complete for $60 so I passed on it because I thought that was too much for it. I found the same game complete a couple months ago at a local gaming store for $30, which was much more reasonable of a price imo.
