@verucassault You realize what the Babylon Bee is, right?

If you want to go the serious route, then book burning is lame, it's a sign of stifling information and knowledge with violent acts. Destroy that which you don't understand or in general terms today, disagree with. You win no arguments by destroying other people's works, but you do show fear. Fear of others having access to that knowledge or information. https://www.azquotes.com/vangogh-image-quotes/55/4/Quotation-John-Milton-He-who-destroys-a-good-book-kills-reason-itself-55-4-0474.jpg

Just as long as you are aware that small government conservatives never resort to acts of state book burning then, make all the jokes you want. I'm sure Lamby's fine, but if they get too much traction, left leaning free thinkers and criticizers are the first to go.

I have no idea what you're talking about or referring to. Perhaps had you given more context in your original post, I could prepare for fisticuffs instead of just sharing something comical. My apologies.

OK after some digging, are you referring to the books in Virginia that the parents are trying hard to get removed from schools that contain sexually explicit things? Still digging. Anyway, I think in my serious response I agreed, book burning is bad. But in this instance, with it involving minors and especially a public school, the parents should have a say in what is being taught and how to their children. Many people think sexuality should be something addressed in the home and not by the public schools. I don't know if it's better or worse but I do know there is a distinct difference in teaching kids sex ed where they slip a condom over a banana vs talking about men diddling kids. I still stand by that books shouldn't be burned, but the trump here is that parents get a say in what and how their kids are taught. Or, they pull their kids from schools. There's always that option, too. https://apnews.com/article/entertainment-religion-arts-and-entertainment-virginia-school-boards-9eb21874bf1f8da6f27a0ea4e1f8a016 FALLS CHURCH. Va. (AP) — A northern Virginia school system said it is removing two books from school libraries, including an illustrated memoir that contains explicit illustrations of sexual encounters involving children, after a parent expressed concern about them at a school board meeting. Stacy Langton, a parent in the Fairfax County school system, questioned the school board at a public meeting Thursday about the books’ availability in high school libraries. As she quoted from explicit passages in the book, a school board member interrupted her and chastised her for using explicit language. ... “Gender Queer,” an illustrated memoir, contains explicit illustrations of oral sex and masturbation. The novel “Lawn Boy” contains graphic descriptions of sex between men and children. Both books were previous winners of the American Library Association’s Alex Awards, which each year recognize “ten books written for adults that have special appeal to young adults ages 12 through 18.” Langton said the fact that school board members felt compelled to interrupt her when she read graphic passages aloud illustrates her point about the books’ inappropriate nature. “I was very angry that they cut me off,” she said.
