2022 Brazilian General Elections

Brazil stood against the IMF during the leftist administration and we got screwed. And how do you define standing against globalists? Bolsonaro is no Nationalist.
nebelstern
Yeah. If anything, Bolsonaro is a right-wing populist, like Trump. And super incompetent. No way I'll vote for Lula, judging he is friends with Bolivarian (not Bolivian) politicians and ideologues (Bolivarians want an unison of Hispanic America, and they also claim Brazilian territory).
nebelstern
Besides. Bolsonaro is a dog that only barks. He almost screwed up our getting of supplies for vaccines since he (and his Olavist ministers) cannot shut his damn mouth at shitting on China (they deserve shitting, but not when we are dependant on them). That, and boycotting vaccines under a stupid freedom pretense that "muh right to not take the shot". Also, have you seen how much Ministers of his quitted their terms? Some even managed to get arrested for corruption and or ousted for lying on their Lattes.

I cannot agree with you when an effective mass vaccination structure and nationwide mandates were the reason measles, smallpox, polio and rubella were eradicated from Brazil in the past. Sure, vaccines CAN cause collateral effects, but that isn't a reason to raise skepticism over them in the grand scheme of things. Furthermore, individual freedom isn't an excuse to keep a infectious deadly disease (which claimed 600k+ brazilian lives) running. The only unorthodox opinion I have is that I doubt the masks' efficiency in the long run.

I am focused on voting for the Liberals for Governors. They did a good mandate in keeping São Paulo's bills in check and refrain from spending too much. In all honesty, I much rather prefer the government keeping the State stable than moving out of its way to artificially make the masses' lives better. The "Conservative" candidate was a guy who stood there in the previous leftist governments as the Minister of Infrastructure until he got autonomy by Bolsonaro's hand. Problem is that he comes from Rio and is running to be São Paulo's governor and he is basically Bolsonaro's satellite candidate.

For president, I might vote for Simone Tebet, which is basically the old politics. At least she defends austerity and is against abortion, despite making a disgusting feminist speech.

And Liberal in Brazil is kind of different from Liberal in the US. Libs here normally aren't progressive, because at least they see that progressivism and identity politics are detrimental to the country at least economy-wise.
