Ghislaine Maxwell trial

verucassault
Weird but interesting read. Ghislaine Maxwell has been caught sketching sketch artists in the courtroom twice. This veteran sketch artist interviewed doesn't really have a problem with it according to the article. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2021/12/ghislaine-maxwell-trial-a-chat-with-the-sketch-artist.html https://pyxis.nymag.com/v1/imgs/deb/215/92f9c4d96ddf74882493c62589be1575e0-maxwell-newsletter-1206.rhorizontal.w700.jpg

Remind me why sketch artists exist? In the digital age it isn't relevant.

Photographers aren't allowed in the courtroom. @gabriel_true Federal court.

Doesn't matter, the security camera shows who came in and left. Sketching people doesn't change the fact they already know what the people looked like. Also I remember Kyle's case being video taped so I doubt the law is exactly as strict as they make it out to be.

Kyle's wasn't in a Federal Court. Federal court has different and far stricter rules regarding press, video, photography. A judge can allow it in certain instancts but otherwise no outside media is allowed. https://www.uscourts.gov/statistics-reports/federal-court-media-basics-journalists-guide From a journalistic standpoint, if photography and video aren't allowed in the courtroom but it's a high profile case, such as this one, capturing important moments could really boost an outlet's views. There are a couple of people testifying in this trial that want to remain as anonymous as possible. "Jane" is one of them. The artist that was interviewed in the link I shared depicted them very abstractly, almost in color blocks. For someone to want to remain anonymous it's pretty instinctual to wonder who this mysterious person is. The artist depicted her in a generic way that doesn't really disclose too much about her looks or identity.

Apparently, a verdict has been reached.
