I don't know if accurate is the best word for it. Sounds more like desperate grasping to me. And for the record, well... You all know how I feel about cops, and authoritarians, right? Watching the RNC crank out the smear propaganda just makes me wanna vote for her as a protest vote.

Yeah she wouldn't secure my vote organically either. I would need some other kind of motivator. https://i.imgflip.com/1a55a.jpg

I personally find the most disturbing thing about Kamala's presidential run is that she was installed. There is not a single person who voted her into the race, she was appointed into the running by the DNC. This move alone was a massive dystopian and authoritarian political maneuver. Say what you will about Trump and Biden, but at least the people were able to put the check mark on the ballot and said, "I want this."

@dyadka_yar Well, actually. There's something called the United States Presidential Line of Succession. It's a safeguard in our constitutional system in case a president leaves office before a new president is inaugurated. Doesn't matter what the election results are. The president is still in the reigns until his lame duck period ends, and the next one is inaugurated. And Yes, declining mental faculties are a perfectly reasonable reason to resign from office. No, it isn't strange or authoritarian that it happened during an election cycle. And if you're wondering, here's what the current line of succession looks like. https://i.ani.me/0363/4825/screen_shot_2024-08-07_at_10.27.15_pm.png So yeah. About Trump. In case you had your fingers between your ears during the trial hearings, let me update you on something. You just said people want a *NOW CONVICTED* rapist, who has admitted to being chummy with Epstein back the day, back into office. And man, with how much filth this man generates around himself on a daily basis, I'm letting him off easy right now.

It's a damn shame but I get that it's a package deal. I think if I were still aligned by that line of thinking I would probably be upset.

I thought he was referring to Biden being forced out via the 25th and Harris being the nominee without any primaries or other candidates being considered.

We all know Kamala was plan B because Michelle Obama, the more popular choice, got snubbed. Apparently there is some bad blood between her and the Biden circle. She was close friends with the woman who had a bad divorce with hunter Biden. Very interesting drama within the royal families...

@chocopyro Line of succession applies to government operation. It does not apply to the candidate for the next presidency. Show me where Kamala's name showed up on the primary ballots. If Biden is tossed out via the 25th and she becomes president, fine that's how it works. The DNC just sort of shoved her in as the candidate when it should have gone to the 2nd place winner of the primaries. She was installed in a non-democratic authoritarian manner into being the presidential candidate. As far as Trump, he was not convicted of rape. Presumably you are talking about the Caroll case where he was convicted of libel and liable for battery where the details of the case are extremely dubious such as when the defendant wore a dress that was made months after the date she claimed the event in question happened. Epstein was banned from Mar-A-Lago circa 2007 after hitting on a teenage girl and there is no record of Trump ever being a client of Epstein. I cannot nor can I ever get behind the Democrat Party and especially in it's modern form. It is a bunch of establishment authoritarians who have done nothing but centralize power to the federal government. I firmly believe in the principal that the answer to bad government isn't more government.

@dyadka_yar Actually, it does work like that. 1968. In the middle of the convention, President Lyndon B. Johnson was pressured to exit the race because of dissatisfaction over the Vietnam war. His vice president, Hubert Humphrey, (who wasn't running that term) was transferred Johnson's delegates. Hubert Humphrey, acting vice president at the time, went on to campaign in Jonson's stead. He lost to Nixon. But he was acting in his right as vice president to inherent the campaign for reelection. We could bitch about it all we want, but making shit up about it and misleading people with vague blanket statements isn't going to change anything. Also, you kinda said I could say what I want about Trump. No one said Hyperboli had to have substance or factual information to be an effective tool to spread misinformation. Just like your comments, that one was designed to prey upon those who don't know better. ;)
