I just don't believe dark topics should be avoided in any artform high or low. Children are going to learn these things eventually.

That's just the porn market in general. It overlaps into everything. There was this period where most of the animes on the market were based on eroge, but I can't really think of anything I've watched within the last 5 months that can be counted as Ecchi. Personal stuff aside, there is something we're overlooking here. That being the birth rate, and the state incentive to try to get those citizens reproducing.

@projectotakux But yeah, please, write your politician. They never listened to us in the past, but in the older days there was less of an overlap in politics in the American otaku crowd. (We tended to swing more anarchist or apolitical back in the 90s.) We only never really got along with the republicans because they were the only ones who actively tried to cancel us, since boomer logic causes them to go after anything they don't understand. But as the spectrum has balanced out, hopefully you can get a foot in the door long enough for him to hear you out. Yeah... Things are different now, right?
