Smh this younger generation needs to stop with the damn free hand out shit. It just goes to show that people dont understand how this stuff works. Lets say college is free for EVERYBODY. No body has to work 2-3 jobs to pay for tuition. No more breaking your back posting multiple videos a day on onlyfans. Its just handed to you for free at the expense of the average tax payer. Everyone now has a higher level of education. Everyone is now on equal playing field. Jobs will only be more competitive. Soon college wont be good enough, now they are gonna want experience. Ok well how do you get experience? By working....hmmm but if you have to work to gain experience and you cant work without experience how do tou get a job? Ding ding ding free labor. Wait but isnt that the same as slavery. Because you are essentially working for nothing no pay at all and are at the mercy of your employers. They can just say hey we dont wanna hire you sorry. Ok now you got your experience but that in itself doesnt guarantee a job because anyone can work for free and everyone will work for free because thts what you need to do in order to get experience.

@verucassault this is precisely why i dropped out of college to join the military. My dream was to be a film editor. This is something i had planned out my entirety of senior year. You know why i didnt pursur that? My professor told me "i lived out of my car for 3 years before i found a job and the only reason why i found a job was because i worked at a news station when i was around 12 years old." Key things they repeated was networking. So who you know not what you know. Not what your skills are. This is the issue we face, its only getting worse because before college were for the select few who can afford it but now scholarships and koans and all this exist so just imagine. If college was free for everyone. You will still see people working McDonald's drive thru fresh out of college.

There's still a lot of opportunities out there for editing if it's something you want to get back into. Most of the big content creators out there eventually have to hire editing staff as they grow. And by the way things look, the content will keep getting created. I'm guessing it works the same way as graphic design, where you have to keep some sort of portfolio to show prior works?

@verucassault yeah its mainly a proof of work type deal. You would need to have your name under skme big name project be friends with directors or people who will be heading projects or that can name drop you as talent for the project. But im kinda done with the whole film editing route. The arts are kind of a sketchy career path to go down. You can get blacklisted at any time or something along those lines im not put myself through that.

XD as an 18 year old though that shit is a massive decision to make. College and all that really forces youth to make a decision that affects the rest if their life. It really sucks that things are that way.

So what's the general idea on the difference between defending someone/something etc and explaining that someone/something etc isn't inherently the way someone says/thinks it is? Is it a fine line difference? A big one? None at all?
