"this is about the mandate meaning you dont have a real choice in the matter. get vaccinated or lose your job. is that coercion, or is it a choice"
You were frame loosing your job as not being able to get another one.
The way that you WERE framing it. It was neither. It simply wasn't reality.

you didnt answer the coercion example, so i assume you see my point on that
i was framing it as you get vaccinated or lose your job, and to imply that not having a job is a reasonable (or even feasible in some situations) choice is incorrect
everyones situation is different, but the lower class vastly outnumber the upper class, so just telling one of them 'yo just quit your job and find a new one' isnt reasonable
ala, my coercion argument

It's very much a choice.
No you were framing it as HAVE no job. This is literally what you previously said.
"if the choice is between living on the streets and shitting in alleys vs ____having a job____, can you really call that a choice?"
"everyones situation is different, but the lower class vastly outnumber the upper class, so just telling one of them 'yo just quit your job and find a new one' isnt reasonable"
It's literally so easy to find a low-skill job right now. There's a vast difference between finding a job and finding a job that suits your fancy.
The dictionary thing is definitely sarcasm. I know you hold no regard over a definition written in a book, and would much rather gauge it based on the feeling of how it's used colloquially. An approach prone to confirmation bias, but which serves your needs. Ironically it can't be definitely confirmed with sources.
Honestly the topic is fully derailed at this point. The discussion was about the vaccine mandate. You're providing extremist examples to illustrate a point. I can respect that, they can be useful for illustration. But you're pushing them to the point where they're becoming the discussion itself, which means they've failed their purpose to illustrate a point.

you know what hyperbole is right xD? if you look at the rest of my argument, youll see it was clearly hyperbole because i further explain my point with a more orthodox hypothetical (which is context you conveniently disregarded)
your being disingenuous if you disregard the majority of my argument and instead hightlight an obvious hyperbole. unless you honestly assume i think all people without jobs are homeless and shit in alleys?
the topic isnt derailing, your fighting a losing battle and have to cling to disingenuous takes to keep it alive
not having a job is not a reasonable choice in our society, really not a controversial statement and yet you found the need to attack it for whatever reason

I disagree. Finding a job is easy in the US. Finding a job you enjoy or that suits your tastes or long term goals is difficult. If you lose your current job you can find another.
To summarize:
I fully disagree. The vaccine mandate does not mean you do not have options. I dislike the mandate, but you have real, responsible options.

finding a job in the US is not "easy", and the "choice" is especially not easy if it regards people in a specific field, like the military
you arent even accounting for the people that live paycheck to paycheck, or that live in areas with high costs of living
vaccine mandates makes it so you do not have a reasonable choice in the matter. most americans can not just quit their job without having to worry about the stability of their future
i like the mandate because coercion isnt necessarily a bad thing. prison is a coercion tactic as well. anti-vaxxers are the worst of the worst and its fucking sad that we need a mandate for them to take a free, cdc recommended, and fda approved vaccine.

Lamby but you DONT have to work or go to school. Thats why we have the homeless some homeless are there because they do not wish to live the way society tells them.
The vaccine mandate give people no option. If i want to work but dont want the vaccine but will get fired if i dont take it thats not goving me the choice. I basically have to get it or i get fired. But if i dont want to get fired and not get the vaccine you see how this becomes an issue? School and work are optional. That is why you can quit and drop out.
