Political rants

A mandate means you'll be punished in some way if you don't comply. Often in such a way as to give you the feeling that you don't actually have options.

The vaccines have been an enormous amount of wasted money IMO. They did not turn out to be effective enough to warrant the disgusting amounts of spending thrown at them. Sure we may not have known it would turn out that way initially. My issue is the negligence in not investing into other potential solutions besides the one with enormous amounts of financial interest behind it. I'm not okay with funding the development, testing, production, and distribution for a company where they reap financial gains, future benefits, and are nearly immune to any repercussions.

you have no choice in the way that you cant live without a job to say that working and going to school is a 'choice' isnt exactly true, those are choices by definition, but in our society they arent practical, so they arent really choices this is all mostly conjecture, my statement still stands, im just clearing up my words

1st. The president doesn't have the power to compel private businesses to do this in the first place. 2nd. Private schools can't be compelled by governments to vaccinate students even under the proposed mandate were it valid. 3rd. It only applies to businesses with 100 or more employees. Choices: Work: * seek employment by a company with less than 100 employees * self employ School * private school * home school Damn not only do I have a choice I seem to have more than one, and all responsible choices unlike "just don't go to school lmao". Lucky me.

Oh and I forgot: under the mandate (the one for businesses announced by Biden) you can show a negative test result as well. So the mandate itself explicitly offers an out so to speak. The options grow.

weird this turned into a debate on word phrasing, but im bored so ill bite if the choice is between living on the streets and shitting in alleys vs having a job, can you really call that a choice? if i held a gun to your head and told you to drink a cup of water, was it your choice to drink the water? you have the choice not to drink, but then youll die where does coercion become a real choice?

When did the vaccine mandate become a choice between living on the streets or taking a jab? Why are we being so extremist here? I offered real, plausible alternatives the very thing you nag about all the time. Is that not sufficient for you this time? Or do I need to provide sources that home schooling is a real thing? But I'll... bite. re: "if i held a gun to your head and told you to drink a cup of water, was it your choice to drink the water? " The choice isn't to drink or die. It's to comply or rebel. Yes, rebelling may get you killed, or maybe you can turn the tables. If someone is offering you an option there's a reason to keep you alive. That reason is hesitation, and that becomes leverage. Also because I can, I'll pull out your favorite thing. The ♪dictionary♪. Mandate: "an official order or commission to do something." Weird that doesn't say I don't have a choice. Just implies I've been ordered to do something.

when did i say it did? these are examples to show that having a choice isnt always having a real choice this is about the mandate meaning you dont have a real choice in the matter. get vaccinated or lose your job. is that coercion, or is it a choice also, idk what tangent you went on, but that doesnt answer anything. i asked if you have a real choice if its between death or drinking some water. the obvious answer is no, coercion is not a choice

also idk if your being thesicious, but im not a dictionary absolutist. language is used in ways that dictionaries cant properly categorize and its ever evolving.
