Define Rural. Ohio is pretty packed in population density. Hell I live in a small city of about 37 thousand, and we have deer, birds, and all kinds of game animal pestering us. What I define as rural may look pretty urban to someone from the plains with lots and lots of space between them and their neighbor. It's more than just corn fields here, you know. Sure, Logan and Nelsonville are going to have trouble with water, but that's Trumps fault for canceling environmental bills willy nilly and getting toxic mine drainage into the pipes, thus causing their pipes to erode and rot from the inside out. But if these mother fuckers could make an underground indoor pool with just a chisel shovel and hands, then a bunch of moonshiners can probably find a way to jerry-rig a solution if survival was on the line. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjjshcZoQxw Columbus will of course be hit pretty hard because a lot of people don't really know that the green stuff they step on in the vacant lot is edible. Truth is, edible plants an herbs grow pretty abundantly there too. So it's more a matter of getting the word out in time. There's always a way to survive, and its not always going to be the bleakest option your mind can fathom. Society is just bored, scared, and ignorant. Not stupid. Plan accordingly, and when shit hits the fan, make sure you have your umbrella ready to be deployed.

@chocopyro https://www.ers.usda.gov/topics/rural-economy-population/rural-classifications/what-is-rural/ "... the existence of multiple rural definitions reflects the reality that rural and urban are multidimensional concepts. Sometimes population density is the defining concern, in other cases it is geographic isolation. Small population size typically characterizes a rural place, but how small is rural? Population thresholds used to differentiate rural and urban communities range from 2,500 up to 50,000, depending on the definition." I would say rural depends on the amount of land within said city/town limits that is undeveloped and/or could be potential for farms, crops, further development. The idea of rural, after all, at least the way I understand it, is wide open spaces. Urban would be dense population, or nearly completely developed within it's limits. This is just in regards to the farming you mentioned. The other thing was traders which to me would translate to craftsman. I don't know if there's anything that really measures the amount of trades people in a given area considering people could have a "day job" and still be crafty in their off time for a hobby or side project. No way to quantify it appropriately. But for farming, at least here in this area, there are markets, but the farmers come in and have to travel a ways to get to them. There's not really any farms within Atlanta, at least none that I've seen.

"Columbus will of course be hit pretty hard because a lot of people don't really know that the green stuff they step on in the vacant lot is edible." I would say you would get many people in other areas that wouldn't know the stuff they step on is edible in other places as well. Do you have something against Columbus? I mean, also, it's' a University town. I'm sure people could figure it out, but I would say the detriment to Columbus would be, again, population despite how many edibles and wildlife in the area. Would be the same here especially since the Atlanta metro is 3x the size that of Columbus'.

https://youtu.be/y6oD1paLRnc Colonial Pipeline caved and paid hackers $5mil.

You know I'm surprised that companies that large don't have corporate elimination squads to hunt and kill people who do things of this nature.

I didnt watch the video but, the hacker group apparently is russian. So i doubt they are sending hit squads to russia. What you meant is, how are companies that big not creating systems to prevent such attacks.

Lots of hackers find safety in Russia as long as they do not directly threaten Russian interests. 5 million dollars seems rather tame to demand from the oil industry, I think if it was really about "making money", as the hackers claimed, that they would have had higher demands. I am more inclined to think this is more testing the strength of the United States. Something similar to the Metcaf Sniper incident in 2013, in which a group of "mysterious gunmen" attacked a power substation and caused $15 Million in damages. Iran has even shown itself capable of infiltrating US military networks, to which the Pentagon had difficulty stopping. The USA is more vulnerable than it projects itself to be. To build on what Chocopyro was saying, I think people are meant to work together to survive. Humans are social creatures; not only is there greater physical strength in numbers, but socializing is an important aspect to maintaining sanity in a high stress environment. The power of friendship is critical to the survival of the human race. Hell on earth is where people don't trust each other. Russian supports the radical right in America, while the Communist Chinese support the extremist left in America. This is because they understand that fostering distrust among the populace is the strongest method of defeating a democratic system. o7

Yeah the American cyber infrastructure is not properly set up, with the government focused in the most idiotic things. Multiple countries have been able to hack us so far. The biggest hack imo was the solar winds hack. Like they got access to even military information, and our treasury along with other things. Like thats huge, while not impactful as the gas pipeline hack we have been hack time and time again. At some point we gotta be proactive and not reactive. I mean while its not impossible to be hacked despite all that. The fact it happens multiple times is a big concern.

Instead you have dumb shit like this going, On. Defund the police, police quit, crime rate goes up, beg the police to come back https://youtu.be/O3lU8FGPqJY

I was perusing ads on linked in yesterday and saw that the City of Atlanta is looking for a police recruiter. I lol'd. I can't imagine the fucking pitches I would have to make to get someone to be an officer here. Like you get a the usual benefits, compensation and EVERYBODY will hate you. If you do it for X amount of years you get a mediocre pension. Sounds good, right?
