A young latino gang member got off with house arrest after executing our sheriff in the back of his head with his pistol. I do think that dirt bag deserved life in prison the same as anyone else.

Its just racism its not a privilege. Many of those judges see black people and think they are getting a violent criminal off the street. Its stereotyping. Not privilege there is a difference.

Extremely hot take but your child's upbringing depends on you. Your job as a parent is to prpvide for your child so that there are no "disadvantages". Just cuz you are white doesnt mean you get the world handed to you. Many who are top billionaires werent always just rich they worked for it. So can just about anyone else. There is no one stopping anyone from being successful but themselves.

not entirely when it comes to single parent households, the statistic of going to prison skyrockets there i agree that you make your own lot in life, but i also believe that humans are irrational actors, and because of that i don't give them as much accountability when theyr stuck in a shitty situation staying in school and getting an education vs slinging dope for fast cash is the same rational as people that ate junk food. its instant gratification and as humans we are hard wired for it
