Political rants

That's how we get away with calling each other sheep or morons or lots of other toxic words and then immediately go over to "Post sexy pics of yourself" or something and be like 'click heart'. None of us expect to get along in politics. I side with Lamby on a lot of issues but she's not sold on social democracy, and I don't do the whole vegetarian thing. Alright, this is getting too wholesome. *Clears throat* You sir are a butthole and all of your favorite music is garbage! Kay, I'm warmed up. Lets continue.

Yeah i dont take any of this politic stuff serious i just like talking trash xD i didnt even vote so i technically dont have a say in the outcome.

@nebelstern the timcast podcast was actually talking about some brazil stuff i found interesting. Of how riots in brazil are like literal war. Police using tear gas way stonger than what we use here in the US. Basically saying brazil is more hardcore. When they post the vids imma link them.
nebelstern
Yeah, there was once the police using their tonfa-like weapon in a rioter's forehead. The guy got his mind boggled for life (not kidding).
nebelstern
There is also the guy whose rocket blew on his hand, too. And the journalist Santiago Andrade who got killed by a rocket fired to his head by anarchist rioters...

I have no doubt that other countries have it way worse than us. He also brought up how they went through some area basically murdering people as SWAT who didnt agree with them. We havent seen real struggle in america and thats why i think we often take stuff for granted. Its refreshing to experience ajother culture first hand. Where i see real racism, real violence, real hatred. Opposed to this made up conflict and being so privileged we have tobfind things to be offended by.

@nebelstern There's wisdom in that, and like I said a page or two ago, I largely agree that you don't throw yourself into a movement if you don't understand what kind of effect their proposed solutions are going to bring. And even when the movement's ideal does hit the chamber, it then becomes the representatives who have to bicker back and fourth about what it will mean, how it will affect us, and all that. So it likely won't resemble anything close to what the original conception is when all the other parties whittle it down into a mutated carcess of what ever's left. (And that's not even accounting for the donors and corporations who have sway over our elected officials. Like our healthcare system, Obamacare!) But you know? We have real world examples to draw on. Hell, Canada has a much more efficient and less costly healthcare than we do.
nebelstern
Our healthcare system is literally the English NRA but crappy. But you know what? That crappy system is better than the full-private system that is American Healthcare.
nebelstern
It is crappy not because of its idea, but its execution is bad. Administrative problems and corruption tear it down.
hell_hound7
I think our healthcare isnt so much a problem with healthcare but more of the institutions. Hospitals and education are the biggest reasons for debt. Like the cost of an ambulance ride alone makes people not wanna go to the hospital.
