70+ year old men having cognitive decline is nothing surprising. And I have no doubt that even Bernie will slow down by the next cycle, so we need to stop popularizing boomers.

I'd like to do a political rant because we just got the election results in my country, but nobody here would understand because our political system is so extremely different from that in the US. So in short: this is a political rant rant

It's too much effort and too little payoff. I might as well talk in a language I invented myself and it'll make as much sense probably

@sanfi I actually love hearing about foreign politics. American outlets try way too hard to keep us very US centric. And that's why we spend so much time debating the physics behind fat old people with or without dementia, and their movements instead of anything relating to actual policy.

In Dutch politics, we have way more parties. This election there's the most amount of parties probably since before the second world war. We've got 16 parties now with about 7 parties that are significantly bigger than the others. The biggest party for 12 years now is the VVD, which translates to Folksparty for Freedom and Democracy. This party is aimed at business life, not the common people, yet 25% of the population votes for it because they like the candidate. He's been or prime minister for 10 years and everybody thinks he's a great leader. What's upsetting is that the left parties have had huge losses. If you translate it to American politics, it is as if the Republicans got 70% of all votes. We have parties that are basically QAnon as a political party and this election they got about 10% of all votes. Everybody was kind of shocked. Some people are really upset, whereas there's a large group of people enjoys really exited about this

At least you have some choice between sprite, fanta, coke, pepsi and whatnot. In the US. You basically have coke and pepsi.
