@momoichi Well that serves to be an issue in of itself. Now the question is what the hell are kids doing there in the first place? @hell_hound7 Well the main issue is not exactly social programs in schools. I personally thing it's the schools themselves. We have teachers in there that are totally ineffective. Why do adults in Chicago have a 70% decent literacy rate? The answer is we have garbage teachers in certain districts and nobody will fire them. The teachers unions protect them despite all the damage they are doing.

like i said i could be wrong, only thing i know about the prison system is from documentaries and that one show that goes into prisons (iv seen like every ep, so good) but hey if your for the better treatment good for you doesn't answer my issue with privatized prisons though, and that would be one of my critiques of biden, that he only ended SOME government contracts with CERTAIN prisons (some being border camps i think?) the entire concept should be abolished, commodifying prisoners only means that you benefit from recidivism and gives you an incentive for people to reoffend or for guards to give citations for every little thing to extend their sentences i also think they should focus more of rehab as for prisoners that are inside for, like, more then 20 years i think? nearly always reoffend, but i know much less about that subject unfortunately

@chocopyro i was never referring to covid times, just pre covid i think most issues come from underfunding normally, but I'm not sure its not an issue I'm too well versed on these days (i use to watch hella prison docs back in the day though)

Build detainee centers along the entire border. Its not technically a wall and it solves the lack of facility problem. Everybody wins.

It largely depends on where you end up. Some have better facilities and systems in place because they actually care about reforming and getting these guys, most are garbage.

@momoichi Well one thing I think we can agree on is that it needs to be investigated is who and why. Don't want something shitty happening to these kids if there is somebody on the other side of the border trying to snatch them up. Possibly a new tactic by the cartels by filling up the detention centers so they are free to move along the border while the border agents are preoccupied by the minors? This is all speculations, but something fishy is going on.

@dyadka_yar ofcourse, which theyr doing atm. i believe during 2017 was it? they accidentally gave some teens to sex traffickers, so its a really worrisome issue for multiple reasons
