It seems a debate regarding "punishment" vs "reform" is afoot regarding crime and how we deal with it... (°ー°〃)

I literally have no room in politics it's that and religion I have no say so in I just like reading these when in bored :>

Yeah sure you go to jail basically fight for your survival everyday around a bunch of gang members and serial killers. Come out with no changes and do the same shit and end up right back where you were.

The prison system basically treats these people like they are less than human. I think they see that and realize its only them out here. People like to argue omg minorities have no opportunities we need social programs in schools and all that but it only goes so far. We need that when they are beyond thay point

thats southern american prisons my issue is that privatized prisons literally seek to make money off of prisoners through government subsidies, which leads to them profiting off of recidivism

Actually, one of my friends does do prison reformation. And for the most part, while they're IN prison it is effective. The problem is they go back to where they know people, and even if they were earnest, being exposed to the same stimulae has a psychological effect of lulling them back into old habbits.

tbh i dont think treatment of prisoners is that bad, it seems like for the most part the guards are the ones that are harassed, but i could be wrong my real issue is the above statement

Treatment of prisoners isnt that bad? Jot very sanitary conditions yeah i get prison is supposed ot be uncomfortable not a vacation but the food and all that like idk...i gtg to bed tho

Choco, I can get straight tobacco. That shit is toxic no matter how you cut it. This coming from a smoker.lol Weed isn't all sunshine and puppies, if you smoke it regularly. THC stays in breast milk for sux weeks and it hinders fetal development. Non of this shit is "good" or harmless. However, it's weighing out the effects on society. Weed is less toxic to society than alcohol, guaranteed. But, when you get money involved, it starts to look different.
