Maybe im remembering wrong but if zeke took one of the ODM gears with him then in theory they should know how it works. So realistically marley should have been blind sided by the scouts

Haha! Very good question Pandus. You would think it's a plot hole. But it isn't. Spoiler alert! But Zeke actually never gave the ODM gear to the Marlynians. There is a reason why he never gave the ODM gear to his superiors. You'll find out.
