If you learned your friend has the opposite political opinion as you, does that influence your opinion of them? I'm curious because my best friend is way different than me on political issues but we just don't talk politics much. Political affiliations have little influence on who I chose as friends. What about you guys? How much does it matter?

People ended their friendship with me because of politics. But for a very good reason because at the time, I used to disrespect people and write long and elaborate essays over why were they wrong. End result? I was called commie, liberal, fascist... the list goes on.

Now although I don't care, I prefer discussing political, historical and social thoughts rather than what happens in a country.
