So my problem with this test is it only takes into consideration of the bombs direct damage. -- It does not factor in that the city of Hopewell is home to several large chemical facilities all equal to nuclear bombs themselves. -- The real threat isn't the bomb itself but the inevitable domino effect it would have on surrounding explosive companies and other nuclear power plants.

Plus if you think about it, the James River feeds directly into the Chesapeake Bay. That means all the toxic chemicals from said destroyed chemical plants would poison the environment along with a large portion of the Atlantic eastern coast. -- So yes! If we wanted to better understand the risk of nuclear warfare we'd need to take into consideration the unintended targets as well. -- You don't hit just one area but actually a larger number of outlying targets too.

@gabriel_true that was an issue in Hiroshima the radioactive dust got swept up in a storm and rained down on people.

What is deadly about radiation isnt the initial impact site. But the spread, radiation can be carried by the wind and all that and end up in places that were miles away
