Relatable

When it comes to communication it is a two way street. I have been criticized by aquantinces as being simultaneously too detailed and not specific enough in my speech. Saying that I remind them of their father or some old man that rambles on at length about nothing and everything at once. However I find it equally frustrating when some people fly off the handle because of a presumed hidden meaning in my phrasing. Or that I'm antagonistic when I greet people. I had that happen last year with a coworker, where I said "Hello, I hope you're well this morning!" And the person looked at me with disgust replying "My brother died last weekend asshole! No I'm not 'FINE'!" They proceeded to storm off and I was left speechless. I didn't know what to say.
