You mean the part where they kinda ignore the looters and rioters and push a 75 year old peaceful protester in chemo to the ground and step over his motionless body when all he was trying to do was give them back their helmet? Yup. Been watching the live footage all week. I'd kinda feel safer to be honest. At least until they restructure their union, rethink their training priorities to include situation de-escalation, learn how to screen for psychopaths better, and stop letting serial killers get through their cracks (Including the ones in the force), and generally behave more like public servants and less like a militant mafia. But for now, they write the reports.

I think the police are given too much to deal with. We need better institutional structure to care for the mentally ill. Take for instance the tragedy of Ohio State Penitentiary. It opened in the late 1800s with the purpose of reforming non-hardened criminals. It worked very well for a while, but then the population in there got way out of control and the guards started commiting atrocities. Lesson being, if you give someone a lot of power, as well as an overwhelming sense of stress they can get capable of performing evil acts. There also needs to be a complete overhaul of police training on how to de-escalate a situation. Training and accountability.

@horrormanga21 You also gotta love how the media covers it. They don't even mention the severe dangers of gathering in crowds and instead pump the violent videos and incite fear. When the riots die down, what do they do? They switch over to talking about Covid 19 again and how a second wave is just about to hit and the world is falling apart. Fear mongering every day to get the views. It's a pretty sad state of affairs we are in.

Still giggling that my city riots became aimed towards CNN. At least these protests are for something and not just whites holding up signs for haircuts. The US was fucked from the start.

Not going to lie. Kinda afraid Cancel Culture is going to destroy the police. It needs to be reformed and I know it's done in steps when an abolishment happens, but having no police is going to be the fucking worst idea for metropolitan areas.
