Am I doing something wrong?

Been on a few dating sites and lost allot of weight (almost at the point where i can tone up soon), however so far ive been meeting people who just seem off to me. 1st date after my first relationship ended: We go to an ice cream shop, shes texting someone, i ask who she is texting, she says her bf, then looks freaked out and looks up at me scared. I laughed, gave her ice cream, talked for a bit, and never saw her again. 2nd date was with a different girl (i try to find the right one). I went out on a couple of dates with this girl, watching movies, playing games, watching anime, then come to find out that she wanted to make her ex jealous. Every single date now makes me worried because allot of dates end up with the girl being someone i cant really trust (even after those two). Am I just the "friend zone" boi? :^)
