Sometimes, the site reminds me of a "group of friends". Where there's already certain roles/reputation placed. Where it's out there in the open, but also closed of. The feeling of wanting to be a part of something, but at the same time, you feel as if you don't belong in it."

144. I'm fairly new to the site, being a year old or so, stuck to it and did my thing, I'm fairly sure others can as well

@144 We were all new users once. This issue comes up anywhere you go. You need to be patient and reach out when you can. Over time you'll make your own place.

@144 Just takes time. New members are like transfer students so you'll feel like an outsider for a while. I'm starting to feel more comfortable making normal posts in random threads but I started out just doing my own thing by just posting music / random pics in aesthetics.

Make your presence known in the forum. You'll meet more people faster that way. DMs do feel a bit weird at first so start off by meeting people in the forums.

@144 I'm a really new user in this site, actually. I just got attention because I did random things that I usually do. I came to Maiotaku with the mindset of having fun and completely acting stupid and insane. It is fun and exciting. Plus, no one is going to get attention nor any form of acknowledgement if you force it or if you don't do anything. Just be yourself. You're going to make yourself feel worse if no one cares after you act like a different person. And it's like any group of friends. Some people are already closer to other users. I prefer being with my friends, but I also welcome new users. Everyone here are still people, so they obviously like someone else better. If you are here in hope of getting famous or popular, I'm sorry to break it, but not everyone is going to be popular. I was a new user and I didn't have any friends. ヽ（´ー｀）┌ But I made them slowly by just giving a response to posts I see. Jut make some good friends if you can. You can try making friends through posts or relating to other things people also do. Just do things you want and don't be afraid to do dumb things (except truly stupid things like giving sensitive information). Honestly, not everyone is gonna be popular nor known. What you should be doing in this is site is just do what you want. Also, popularity isn't always nice. There are people who are going to dislike you for no reason. It isn't going to change. You will be loved, but you'll be fricken hated a lot too. They will be very mean in a lot of ways. I don't mind them since it's normal. Just do what you want in this site. Have fun and enjoy this place. Don't come in with the mindset of becoming popular, because reality isn't always that way. It's not like I was popular either. I'm just doing what I want to do. Don't make yourself frustrated over popularity. Just have fun and make some good acquaintances.
