I think you are a good man who has seen some real terrible things in his life laying the foundation for a cynical point of view. I feel you are not nearly as nihilistic as you portray in your posts. Honestly from your point of view you probably see it as a mixture of making an attempt to be genuinely sociable, but gain frustration from others not being able to relate on a more intellectual level. Many of us do rely on emotional intelligence to progress through life which does open up a Pandora's box of pitfalls. You are actually right to rely on grounded reasoning as a basis for decision making and we all could be better people if we tried balanced logic versus unchecked emotion. That said emotion is a driving force in all lives even yours. In fact you wouldn't waste your talent on this site if there was not some form of emotional attachment to it. Why would a logical man like Aleph spend all his free time picking on people he truly hated on the internet unless he wanted some form of respect or mutual emotional reciprocation? I know you will respond to this with something witty and I will enjoy it as I always do because in the end we are two sides of a similar coin.
