I don't think is weird that the US has more infected considering how dumb people are. China is better organized in that aspect.

@panda they were able to contain it so well despite being ground zero because theyr basically an authoritarian regime and was literally shoving people they suspected to have the virus into vans to forcefully quarantine them where as americans are still celebrating fucking spring break and mardi gra its typical american exceptionalism/americans being dumbasses

Adding about the spread to America. *The travel ban from China came late. Considering the virus stealth period, it was likely already here. *The travel ban from China still allowed US citizens to return home from China. *People could still travel to other nations, and expose people that would be traveling to the US later themselves. *Trump and several members of his administration have constantly downplayed the virus. Even if it was just an attempt to keep people from panicking, it was poorly handled. MANY people still think this thing is some sort of hoax to make Trump look bad, or just some sort of cold because of what was said. *The federal government has largely left things up to the individual states, and many states have left things up to individual counties. Only 21 of the US 50 states are on a lockdown of sorts atm. In Florida, they left the beaches open for spring break because they wanted that tourism money. *Many of the lockdown rules are being treated more as recommendations. They are not actually being enforced everywhere. *Companies like Gamestop tried to argue they were essential business to stall being shut down. Gamestop went so far as to demand store managers hand over documentation stating so to police that tried to shut them down. Gamestop also failed to provide any sort of sanitation supplies so its stores at all (they told the store managers that they and their employees could go find their own), but advertised to the public they were keeping everything clean. Gamestop has seen a significant spike in sales since this started. *The CEO of Hobby Lobby said he would not close no matter what, because he had a vision from God telling him to stay open.
