Chicken pox is a form of herpes. Herpes viruses stay in your system at the root of nerves. If you had chicken pox before it stays in your system but your immune system keeps it in check. When people have compromised immune systems or get old sometimes it resurfaces as shingles.
There are other strains of coronavirus but they don't stay in the system. This strain will probably follow that.

So far it's the warmest night of the year here. Earlier it sounded like there was a concert happening at the park nearby. But then I remembered, oh yeah....

A handful of pages back I posted something my work circled around over a week ago. Other factors regarding COVID19 that is different is how its affecting people differently, mild/moderate/severe. For those who are moderate to severe, which is a substantial amount, they will likely need ventilators but there is a limited supply. 1 week ago the death rate was 3%, then it jumped to 4%, and now 5%. Lots of factors at play. Don't know if the ventilator was an issue with Ebola or SARs.

The death rate is not a straight track for this thing though. For those that are mostly healthy, and below the age of 60, its a 1-3% death rate.
But for those who are older, or have various health problems (asthma, heart disease, in the middle of chemo treatments, etc), it can clime as high as 80%. There are also the severe cases to be considered (5-10%), that are in very bad shape, but could be saved with access to proper care and equipment. Lack of access to such care for any reason (over burdened systems, poor nations, bad healthcare systems, etc) will artificially inflate the numbers.

Does anyone else find it weird how america has surpassed china (a country with 1/3 of the worlds population) in the amount of coronavirus cases?
Think about it, some people give them props on how they successfully contained the virus, but it doesnt add up. Patient zero originated in china then spread to the rest of the world. So how well could they have possibly contained it? If it managed to leave their country then obviously, there were some slips through the cracks right? Both italy and america have passed them. But america was among the first countries to close its borders. Ontop of that they issued a stay at home order as numbers startes to rise. Closed businesses made it illegal to force nonessential workers to work.
A country who couldnt even get a handle on the riots going on just magically contained a virus and stopped it from spreading? Seems fishy.
Now this is just my perspective, i havent read any case studies. But i have been keeping up with the live news and its just weird.
Edit: other factors can be considered such as masks already in use due to pollution vs other parts of the world in a shortage. As well as perfect conditions for the virus. But did their cases really just peak while other countries cant fix it?
