I believe this was staged, because they stopped referring to the variants by country and instead by delta and omnicron. Like these didnt exist already under the name african, uk and wuhan variants

so because there was omicron in south africa people in america (or even africa for that case) shouldnt bother getting a vaccine at all? against the main virus? or any boosters afterwards? and this whole hate against boosters is comical, we got booster shots as fucking kids, and people get them every year to fight again the flu covid only got so bad because anti intellectualism has gotten so popular recently. anti-vaxxers are worse than people who drink piss

I don't even know if EVERYONE got vaccinated, if that would've kept it at bay. Good thing is, if it continues down the path of the Omicron variant being the dominant variant, it won't be as bad and that's speaking from experience. The vaccines have helped, I believe. For instance, I felt like shit for two days, but otherwise had a 10 day weekend.

it might not have, true, but it also MIGHT have. the prospect of futility is no reason why we shouldnt try something, especially if lives are at risk and i agree, i think (or maybe dumb hope) it will mutate lesser than worse. on a lighter note, i didnt have to go to a dinner with my in laws thanks to covid, so thats kinda nice.

Honestly this is the last year of pandemic. I can feel it, there is no way governments are gonna be able to contain the population much longer. You have protests in nearly every country that is imposing mandates now. Every leader has been criticized for it. From boris johnson, to Trudeau, to biden and so forth. Even Australia which has been the strictest this pandemic cant avoid protests.

The 1918 pandemic was thought to mutate to the point it was no longer dangerous. Might happen to covid. We can't really put a timeframe on it though.
