Since March 2, 2018. You've actually only kept pace our slightly underperformed the SP&500. Your two year gain of 42.31% is pretty close to the market mean of 43.17%. A lot of active traders do not beat the SP&500. Over the nearly two year span. Someone on an indexed S&P 500 fund would have the same gains as you.

I'm not afraid of COVID-19, but I fear the vaccines because it could screw me up in any way like the MMR and Hepatitis B vaccines during my childhood. One old woman I met told me her father (perhaps part of Greatest Generation) not to take any vaccines and she did and lived well. I'd rather go with natural healing and healthy lifestyle while being introverted more than extroverted.

Here's a crazy thing about the vaccines. They do not prevent transmission. They have been made to help prevent devastating complications and death, but it has not been proven that they prevent transmission. The virus can live in your nasal passage, so for instance let's say you are a front-line worker dealing with COVID day after day, and you have been given the vaccine. You can still spread the virus to other people having been in contact with it. This is why essential workers still must wear gloves, masks, protective gear and continue quarantining themselves from their families even after having received the vaccine.
I feel like more attention needs to be brought to this but I guess since vaccines are in limited supply, the general populace doesn't need to know this??? Oo

@a1ephy I don't know why you were trying to shit on my gains, as that was not the point I was trying to make. However, I want to respond because what you said is simply wrong. The SP&500 gain from 2018 to the end of 2020 was 23.96% https://www.mdleasing.com/djia-close.htm
If you were to invest at the absolute best moment in the 2018 crash and sell at the absolute height of 2020 you would have a 39.54% gain. Just wanted to correct your misleading info. I don't blame you, that chart is easy to read wrong if you don't know how to read it correctly.

@veruca I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some news cycles cover why the vaccines aren’t the absolute cure all and that it doesn’t mean the end to masks, etc. But I agree, it should definitely be stressed that vaccines just mean the end is in sight, not that it will fix everything immediately.
@cero that is interesting cause I feel like all the news media I’ve seen run stories about the death toll daily. Maybe it’s which source you’re using? I’m pretty sure the AP news, NPR, and politico updates daily about the pandemic.

Oh, I still feel the urgency haha. Especially with the strain variants and then with the abysmal vaccine rollout I feel like whatever relief there was to be had with a new administration has been balanced with these worries. But I’m definitely a little bit more hopeful just because the last administration was just so terrible at handling this pandemic
