At some point this year financial institutions are going to be in dire straights and the media as well as the president will announce it is safe to go back to work as many people have already contracted the virus and gotten better. However, this is only because society will desprately need the cogs to turn in order to prevent collapse. We will have to go back to work, and many people who are alive today will die. The threat will get played down by the media to prevent a panic, but we all know it's just something we all gotta do despite the risks and knowing that people will die.

I feel your anger towards the Chinese government, Panda. It is extremely irresponsible of them not to allow wet markets to exist with their festering diseases. Who knows how many billions of dollars and lives their complete lack of control will cost the world.
I work in the gambling gaming industry, so my company's source of income is currently cut off. In about anywhere from a month to 3 months from now I'll be laid off if nothing changes. If enough people get unemployed, then the chaos will really happen when people can't draw from the dry well of unemployment benefits. Good luck, everyone!

Liquor stores are considered essential BECAUSE an alcoholic can die if they're cut off cold turkey and there are MANY more alcoholics than you realize. Not to mention, stressed people tend to wa t an out and people would BE VERY pissed without one.
As for the U.S and acting quickly? We've MAJORLY dropped the ball and are continuing to do so. Our medical system is NOT prepared for what's to come. While there may not be a national quarantine, the states need to act NOW to prevent MAJOR issues. Enough people on top KNEW what was to come and did nothing except protect their assets. Our president tried to MAJORLY downplay all of this untill about a week or so and he knew better. At this point, the U.S has kind of screwed it's self. We shall see how it all plays out, but unfortunately it'll be the better part of a year or so before there's a viable vaccine.

Ha .... we were just talking about how the stores here still must be in full swing. Imagine being locked in with your family for days on end. I would need more than just alcohol.

430 infected over here and growing.
Ironically, the most vulnerable people, the elders are the least worried and think people exaggerate.

It's called, it's going to affect EVERYONE. Even at a 3% mortality rate, you're talking almost nine million in the U.S alone dying from this. That's a metric shit ton to handle and then there's the issues the virus can cause in the long term. It ain't no joke. I'm not one to panic, but I think we've barely seen the tip.
