Cold sores are actually caused by a strain of herpes. It is extremely common, something like 1 in 6 people in America have it. Most people get it from their mothers when born.

yeah i always get chapped lips in the winter too. i think the fact ive never got chapped lips this year is a first honestly...

Yup. I get outbreaks right before I show signs of being sick or having mast cell issues. It's generally my warning sign that things are gonna get bad.
