What is it like being a guy on MO?

Well being someone that was here back in 2017 and earlier, it is hard trying to find friends plus also try to find someone that has similar interests as you in the way of a partner. this is so much different than Facebook or any other social media site as it feels more like a forum here than anything else and it does not feel like a dating site from the fact it's more like a friendly conversation with many individuals either friendly or nice because you can easily be disrespected by a different male that will literally disrespect you for being single showing that if you were a female it would be a whole different story. I'm not trying to be sexist or disrespectful but it is hard being on social media sometimes as a male and being here as an otaku is kind of hard if you're trying to find a romantic partner but if you're trying to find a friend it just takes time and understanding plus willing to throw yourself out there.

hmm well my main objective is meeting fellow otaku friends in this site..so its pretty fun and relaxing so far...love it here...^^

Not all that interesting from my experience. I've had a few conversations here and there but not many. So I usually post random stuff or art back when I was still posting in the art and doodles thread. I probably should get back on that again since it's been a long time. xP But yeah, I usually try not to stand out much since I classify as an introvert and not really much of a conversationalist. xP

Being a guy on MO has it's own troubles too. We may not have our dms blowing up like the ladies, but we deal with weirdos in our own way. For example I have gotten a couple of "women" who have tried messaging me for intimacy, but were not actually women. I always (try to) do a trace back on pictures of the person. Most times it is a copy and past pic from a walgreen's photo frame sample photo online. I have been led on before on here and broken. I will be the one to admit that I am desperate for love so if someone approaches me and says a few kind sweet words to me I melt. It taught me to be careful who I open up to and fall for.

well definitely talking about it in public will help at least for them to stop continuing with their pranks here... so thanks for sharing @snakie ^^
