Cons. The place that causes the void to appear in my wallet

Is it just me or have cons become more expensive lately? I have only been to a few in the past couple years but i have noticed that it seems to get more and more expensive as i go to them. Even with me just getting the bare minimum i find myself dumping like three to four hundred dollars each time i go to one (If not more!). I don't know if it's the buyers high that comes with finding sweet deals at cons but it just seems that when it comes to cons i find that my bank account gets emptied each time and i seem to spend more at the next con i go to. Maybe i am just too impulsive and need to restrain myself from the dealers a bit more? I dunno. Can anyone relate or is this just a personal issue of mine lol?

Go with a group and split the hotel bill. Carpool if you can and ask everyone to chip in for gas and parking if there is a charge for it. Biggest expenditures individually should be your badge and food, and you can always pre-reg in advance to get that cost out of the way. I used to volunteer and help advertise a con I used to staff at other cons in the region, and that allowed me to attend others and help lower the cost of going.

My biggest cost is the hotel cos forever alone. Then at con I don’t buy anything unless it’s like a custom made item cos the toys n stuff I’ll buy in Japan lololol like a $20 bead art or something. I’ve gone badgeless a few times if the programming is crap, Idc for the guests and I just want to hit up hotel bar in costume. I’m finding a con less about the con and more about staying in a swanky hotel and getting drunk in costume.

If you get a couple thousand in debt at a con you could have done a week in Tokyo same amount and not be eating ramen out of a never washed coffee maker.
