Opinions on Otome Games?

Not really my cup of tea per say, but I'm also a straight guy lol. For dating sims for guys or girls who like cute anime boys, they get the job done lol

iv only ever played western indie ones, but i love verse harems so i like them alot i remember playing one about succubuses that you like, had to get to know to decide which youd fuck was weirdly formal, id rather just orgy

sure why not i think i played an otome game and semi-enjoyed it but i'm blanking on which one it was maybe i was considering doing date warp? also incidentally if that was a succubus game that encouraged safe consensual sex then i've also done that one lamby lol

AHH magical diary had some male love options i don't know if that qualifies as an otome game but i played through all the routes and enjoyed it

I'm picky with mine but I do enjoy them. I don't mind tropes done to certain extents but if it gets too trope-y it's a big turn off as well as if the outfits are over detailed and clunky. I play for the twists in the routes as well as something that will suck me in for a bit and really make me feel immersed. A little bit of drama and tension thrown in there to keep it interesting but not overboard. I tend to not like things that are overly fanservice which sounds funny because it's all fanservice but I feel like it's a genre where if it's overdone it's too cheesy to even get through. I really have the be able to sympathize with the characters too aside from initial superficial charm.
